An eleven-a-side soccer tournament is set to kick off next week in Bina, West Kwaio, Malaita province.
A David Gosia reports from Bina today, pool matches begin next Monday.
\”Only ward 28 teams are organising the tournament which will be held from the 9th-14th January 2017 and it will be an 11 a-side soccer pool match.\”
Mr Gosia adds the tournament aims to engage young people in sports to deter engaging in anti-social behaviour in the community.
\”The main aim of this event is to engage young people in sports and promote a violence-free community. We\’ve also had similar events during the festive season which had a positive impact on the lives of young people in our community and now we are organising yet another event.\”
