USP\’s 4th CAMPUS RELOCATED TO KGVI AREA

The Government has decided to relocate the University of the SouthPacific\’s (USP) fourth campus to King George Sixth area, East of Honiara.

USP Solomon Islands Campus Director John Usuramo confirmed the relocation during USP\’s Open Day celebrations in Honiara yesterday.

He said Government has approved the relocation two weeks ago.

Mr Usuramo says the new location is around 5.6 hectares of land behind the King George Sixth fields.

\”The area that is identified is the area behind the playing fields, it\’s a sloppy area but it\’s an excellent site development is now well in terms of the land. And the site itself is about 5.6 hectares which about 13.8 acres. And once its constructed we should have a very good campus.\”

The USPSI Campus Director said the Asian Development Bank has approved US$15 million for the project.

SIBC News understands the campus is expected to complete in 2018.
