SOLS EXPECTED MORE RAIN DUE TO TROPICAL DEPRESSION

The tropical depression Northwest of Rennell will continue to bring bands of heavy rain and strong winds in the country over the next twelve to twenty four hours, the National Meteorology Service says.

In its fourth tropical disturbance watch advice, issued at 12-thirty noon today, the National MET Service warns gale force winds of 34 to 47 knots to are expected develop over Rennell and Bellona, Makira and Southern Guadalcanal.

The remaining islands are also warned to expect winds of 15 to 25 knots, gusting to 30 knots.

The MET Service also warns that seas will be moderate to rough, and that there will be coastal flooding, with heavy rain and squally thunderstorms.

The MET Service is also asking people to take precautionary measures during this bad weather and to listen to all radio outlets for further advises.

At 10am this morning, the tropical depression was located about 90 nautical miles Northwest of Rennell Island, and was reported as moving West-South West.
