The Solomon Islands and New Zealand Governments have begun consultations on their commitment to the development relationship between the two countries in Honiara.

A statement from the New Zealand High Commission says the consultations was opened by the Minister of Development Planning and Aid Coordination Danny Philip yesterday.

Speaking during the consultation, the Acting Head of the New Zealand Aid Programme Jonathan King said one-hundred and seventy-seven million Solomon dollars has been forecasted to be spent this year for Solomon Islands\’ growth and development.

Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary for Development Planning and Aid Coordination Shadrach Fanega said the consultation is a cornerstone in the development relationship which the Government shares with New Zealand.
