The National Government has sent the country\’s congratulatory message to Papua New Guinea on its 40th Independence Anniversary.
A government statement reports, Prime Minister Sogavare says on behalf of the Government and people of Solomon Islands he wish to extend his government\’s profound good wishes to the government and people of Papua New Guinea on this day.
The Prime Minister says he wish to pay tribute to the long and cordial relationship between Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.
He believes the opening of the Papua New Guinea new Chancery Office in Honiara this year manifest PNG\’s commitment to enhance this relationship.
Mr Sogavare declares his government intense desire to further strengthen this relationship for the benefit of the two countries and their people.
