SIPA TO REVIEW DRAFT SETTLEMENT FOR SACKED WORKERS

The Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) will review a draft settlement for the 13 workers sacked its former Chief Executive Officer Collin Yow sacked in April last year.

SIPA\’s Acting Chief Executive Officer Micheal Wate told SIBC News the board will review the draft settlement this week.

Mr. Wate also adds, most of the returning workers have been allocated positions at the new International berth.

The workers returned April this year after the High Court ordered their reinstatement.

The Workers Union of Solomon Islands, WUSI is representing the workers.

Earlier, WUSI President David Tuhanuku threatened to refer the case back to the Trade Dispute Panel if SIPA continues to delay the settlement.
