Sikua guilty of corruption

Former Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services Edmund Sikua has been found guilty of 3 out of the 7 official corruption counts against him.

The Central Magistrate\’s court handed down the judgement yesterday afternoon.

Magistrates Court stressed, the former PS was acquitted of four charges of official corruption.

He is on remand and will appear again on Wednesday 14th November for sentencing.

The three counts of official corruption were related to government tenders worth more than $600,000 he awarded to Beeds Investment in 2016, a company registered and owned by his  daughter.
