Solomon Islands participants at the 5th Melanesian Festival of Arts and Culture continue to impress at satellite venues around Papua New Guinea.

A statement from the contingent\’s Media Team says – music bands, dance and panpipe groups traveled to satellite venues at Mount Hagen in the Highlands of PNG, Wewak in the Sepik region, Kokopo in East New Britain and Alotau in Milne Bay province.

At Kokopo, the Too Good Boys band and Faeni Dancers of North Malaita stunned the audience for three days, alongside other Melanesians from Fiji, New Caledonia and the hosts.

The Nelo dancers of Santa Cruz did the same last week at Mount Hagen while the Are’ Are panpipers stole the show in Alotau for two days last week.

The Two-4-One Band featuring Hi\’ona, Sharzy and Dezine, The Solid Black and Kaumakonga bands also featured prominently in Port Moresby since the start of the festival last Saturday.

The Ahia dancers of Ulawa travelled to Wewak in the Sepik region on Monday to perform there, while Solomon Islands artists and the Stage of Change Theatre group continue to exhibit and perform in Port Moresby.

Solomon Islands participants will remain in Port Moresby for the completion of the Program on July 11.
