RUAVATU MARKED ASSUMPTION OF MARY

Ruavatu Catholic Parish in Northeast Guadalcanal celebrated the feast day of the Assumption of Mary over the weekend.

The program began with a vigil mass celebration on Saturday and the feast day celebration on Sunday.

It includes the procession of the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary by Christians and Main Celebrant Arch Bishop Adrian Smith.

Meanwhile, SIBC stringer John Toki reports, the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) also uses the opportunity to provide awareness on gender violence, child protection and law and order.
