In Sports, the Ministry of Home Affairs has clarified that Rennell and Bellona province will still host the 2016 Solomon Games in July this year.
The clarification came after some attempts to revoke the venue for the 2016 games.
Permanent Secretary George Palua told SIBC\’s \’Distaem Nao\’ program today, Rennell and Bellona province will host the 2016 Solomon Games.
He says this is because the Games Council, as the legitimate authority, has already given Renbel province the right to host the games this year.
\”Renbel province was awarded the right to host the 2016 Games way back in 2012 at Tulagi and a little bit of issue again in 2013 so it confirms that Renbel will still be the host of the Solomon Games for 2016. The government body that gave this decision was the Solomon Games Council not the Ministry of Home Affairs to make it clear.\”
