The joint-Government and SINTA Taskforce has completed its recommendations on leave packages and housing allowances for teachers and awaits Cabinet approval.
SINTA General Secretary, Samson Faisi said the recommendations were completed after a nation-wide consultation the Taskforce held with teachers about their leave packages and housing allowances.
Mr Faisi said SINTA representative and the Director of Education, Mathias Kutai put together the recommendations following concerns raised by teachers when the government ceased their leave packages and housing allowances since 2001.
He said the report will be presented to the Permanent Secretary for Education, and to Cabinet later this year.
