The National Referral Hospital (NRH) has increased the number of security personnel working during night shift.
The hospital authority also begins work on restoring security lights in critical areas around the hospital compound.
This week, NRH staff met with the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) to enhance security management to ensure patrols are provided during weekends.
NRH Chief Executive Officer Dr. Steve Aumanu says, NRH is pleased to work with the RSIPF to immediately improve security within the hospital.
Meanwhile, the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI) has also offered support to provide a security briefing for all NRH staff.
A Security Restoration Plan will be delivered to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services this week.
