The Parliamentary Entitlements Commission (PEC) clarified that the increase to Members of Parliament Entitlements is just a proposal that is not finalized.

In a government statement, Commission Secretary Derek Vagi says PEC will soon seek public views on the proposed increase.Mr Vagi says the Commission is yet to consult relevant stakeholders on the proposals to get their views before a decision is made.
“As a responsible institution, the Commission intends to gather views from relevant stakeholders including the public in order to reach a fair and suitable decision”
He adds the proposed increase in salaries remains outstanding since 2019.
The Commission assures the public that it will strive to ensure that any decision will be made in consideration of the country’s financial position.
