A hearing has begun for the election petition against North Guadalcanal constituency MP Samson Maneka.
Former MP for the North Guadalcanal constituency Martin Sopaghe lodged the petition, claiming Honourable Maneka lured 170 voters from North East Guadalcanal constituency to register in the North Guadalcanal constituency.
He alleged the voters resided in communities on the other side of the Mbalasuna river, which is the boundary between the North and Northeast.
Mr. Sopaghe was the first witness this morning.
The hearing is set for three days.
