The Director-General of the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Secretariat has congratulated the government and people of Solomon Islands on the celebration of the country\’s 37th Independence Anniversary.
In a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare, the Director General Peter Forau extends his warm congratulations to the Government and people of Solomon Islands on this occasion.
Mr Forau also salutes Prime Minister Sogavare for his outstanding and exemplary leadership in this exciting time and fervent commitment to promoting peace and prosperity in Solomon Islands and the Melanesian sub-region.
He commended personal contributions by the Prime Minister to the MSG through participation as a member of the MSG Eminent Persons Group (EPG) in 2013 which led to the formal adoption of a common vision for our region.
He adds it is also noteworthy that Sogavare\’s Chairmanship of the successful 20th MSG Leaders’ Summit continues to demonstrate his able qualities as a leader.
