JAPANESE EMBASSY IN HONIARA TO SIGN OFF WATER SUPPLY GRANT

The Japanese government will sign a grant contract project for the improvement of water supply and sanitation for Koge community in Isabel and Kolofe and Kwaibala community in Malaita province tomorrow.

A statement from the Japanese Embassy said Koge community will receive approximately SBD$555,000.00 through the Health and medical services division of Isabel province.

This will fund 4,000 gallons of water tank, 22 standpipes and 60 sanitations.

Meanwhile, Kalofe and Kwaibala community will receive approximately SBD$500,000.00 which will fund two 10,000 litres water tanks, 13 standpipes and one public toilet.

The grant signing will be attended by the Japanese Ambassador to Solomon Islands, Kenichi Kimiya; the Director of Isabel and Medical Services, Donald Kafa; and the Chair of the Kolofe and Kwaibala Water Supply and Sanitation Committee, Elson Labufunu
