The Minister of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs Jimson Tanangada has said investing in women and girls is indeed investing in our future.
The Member of Parliament for Gizo, Kolombangara made the remarks during the International Women\’s Day celebrations yesterday.
\”Let us be a generation of women and men who drive our policies and actions towards the fulfilments of our right and work of life. let us be a generation of women and men actively participate in activities that drive these policies. Let us be a generation of parents, a father and mother who imparts to our young girls and boys the values of making things happen. Investing in our women and girls is indeed investing in our future.\”
He added although the Government has policies and plans to address gender issues, everyone is equally responsible.
\”It is the responsibility of all citizens of this country to make things happen, we all, all of us, women and men, girls and boys must recognise and be committed to this noble undertaking to ensuring that we are all treated equally and fairly and given the privilege to be developed to our full potential.\”
