A hearing was conducted today to strike out the sworn statement of a practicing solicitor in the election petition case against the MP for Temotu Vatud, Hon. Freda Comua.
In the hearing today, Mrs. Comua\’s lawyer, Makario Tagini applied to the Court to strike out the sworn statement on the ground that it was \’scandalous.\’
Mr. Tagini initially submitted to strike out four sworn statements, but will proceed only with one.
Justice Rex Foukona reserves his ruling on the application.
Former MP for Temotu-Vatud Clay Forau lodged the election petition against Hon. Freda Comua after the National General Elections in 2014.
SIBC News understands, a proper trial date for the petition is still to be fixed.
