The Solomon Islands Governor-General His Excellency Sir David Vunagi has opened day two of the COVID-19 vaccination program by receiving his COVID-19 vaccine jab at the Central Field Hospital in Honiara.
The Ministry of Health confirmed.
He was observed for 30 minutes before he left the hospital.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of National Parliament Patterson Oti and government officials including the frontline workers also being vaccinated.
SIBC News is aware that a total of 220 people have been vaccinated after the launching of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout program yesterday.
During the launch of the AstraZeneca vaccine this week, Prime minister Manasseh Sogavare said, the government aims to vaccinate 100 percent of its eligible population.
