The High Court has yesterday sentenced a 33 year old father from Marau, Guadalcanal Province to eight years in prison for raping his 12 year old daughter.
The father earlier pleaded guilty to the 5 counts of rape he committed on different occasions last year.
He threatened his young daughter with a knife before raping her.
He also showed her pornographic movies and tricked her into going to the garden alone with him.
Justice Francis Mwanesalua sentenced him to eight years for counts one to three, and seven years for counts four and five.
He is to serve the sentences concurrently.
