A local farmer who regularly supplies fruits, root crops and fish to the National Referral Hospital in Honiara has called on responsible authorities to formulate a quick and efficient way of payment for suppliers like him.

Moses Karuku told SIBC\’s North Guadalcanal stringer Dudley Gani, the current system of payment used by the responsible health authorities is very slow and is having adverse effects on farmers.

\”He said the system of payment practiced by the hospital management to pay the suppliers is very slow. Sometimes the suppliers have to wait for more than three months to get paid for their supplies. He said this is having adverse effects on the suppliers because they need money to do their work and pay their employees.\”
