Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has called on journalists to exercise media freedom with great responsibility.
Prime Minister Sogavare made the call last night at an official function to mark the Press Freedom Day for the Media Association of Solomon Islands.
He said exercising media freedom with great responsibility is crucial as it is the primary objective of journalism to maintain public respect and trust.
The Prime Minister also called on Solomon Islands journalists to always exercise quality reporting to maintain the professionalism of journalism in the country.
