Eight island teams have shown interest to participate in this year’s Inter-Islands rugby championships.
This year’s event is set to kick off on October 11th.
Office of the Solomon Islands Rugby Union Federation confirms, this year’s tournament will again bring together the same eight teams that took part in last year’s championship.
Seven of the eight teams have already confirmed their participation – Bellona, Malaita, Temotu, Rennell, Western, Malaita Outer Islands and Guadalcanal.
Makira is expected to confirm its participation over the weekend.
SIRUF office says the organizing committee is working around the clock to ensure the event kicks off smoothly.
