Discussions are underway for the Solomon Oceanic Cable Company (SOCC) to commence laying its undersea cable.
Chair of the Solomon Islands National Provident Fund Board Peter Boyers confirmed during the announcement of a 10 percent crediting rate for SINPF members recently.
Mr Boyers explained, SOCC has not commenced laying its undersea cable as yet.
He said SOCC discusses with the government on its new direction for improvement in broadband connectivity that will affect its future as an entity.
