Transparency Solomon Islands (TSI) has called on the Democratic Coalition for Change Government (DCCG) to seriously address the unaccounted forestry revenue of $500 million revealed by the former Minister of Forestry and Research, Bodo Dettke.
TSI says this is already a public knowledge and the government cannot turn a blind eye on a public concern.
The statement adds it has become a habitual practice that the DCCG is very silent and unresponsive to the many issues raised by a concerned citizen.
TSI wants the new Minister of Forestry and Research, Bartholomew Parapolo to inform the public on the status of the file of evidence documents of the unaccounted government revenue.
Transparency Solomon Islands maintains its earlier call for the Ministry of Forestry to hand the file containing hard evidence to the police for criminal investigation and possible prosecution.
