CHIEF SUPPORTED SECURITY DEAL WITH AUSTRALIA

Burns Creek Community leaders support the idea of having Australians Federal Police (AFP) presence on Guadalcanal.

Chief Peter Usi says as a Community Leader within the Guadalcanal jurisdiction, he supports the statement made by the Premier for Guadalcanal Province Anthony Veke to facilitate the presence of AFP in Solomon Islands.

Chief Usi says, his community understands that the presence of AFP is not to take over policing duties from our local police but mostly on technical support.

Meanwhile, Chief Usi adds, only with Australia\’s support can Solomon Islands effectively control its borders.
