The Australian High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, His Excellency Andrew Byrne will visit the Weather Coast starting Monday.
Statement from the Australian Embassy in Honiara says the High Commissioner will be accompanied by his wife Dawn Bennette and others from the Embassy.
His Excellency Byrne says it has been his long time plan to visit remote communities there.
He adds he wants to hear first hand, the challenges facing these people.
The trip will cover about 260 kilometres from Marau by boat before walking across mountains to the remote communities.
