Member of Parliament for West Makira, Derek Manuari has said the Democratic Coalition for Change Government (DCCG) must involve youths in decision-making concerning National issues as it is vital to prepare communities for development.
Speaking during the last Parliament meeting of 2014 Mr. Manauri said over the years youths have become a forgotten generation.
He said they have been ignored and overlooked in important development and decision-making processes.
He said DCC must be proactive in addressing issues affecting youths because their engagement is important to foster growth and development preparedness in our communities.
\”Our youth population Sir, grows with every passing year. This growth offers both opportunities and challenges. It is, therefore, imminent that the government is proactive in addressing issues affecting youths, working in collaboration with other stakeholders such as church-based organisations and community-based organisations. This approach is important because it focuses on the human aspect of service delivery rather than only emphasising on systems and structures.\”
