CHOISEUL PREMIER RULED OUT GRANTING OF BAUXITE MINING LICENSE

The Premier of Choiseul Province Mr Jackson Kiloe has said there is no granting of any mining license to mine bauxite in Wagina, Choiseul Province.

Confirming to SIBC News recently, Mr Kiloe said he is aware only of a prospecting license, saying there is no mining license granted.

Mr Kiloe made the clarification following rumours that the mining license has been granted for bauxite mining to take place in Wagina, Choiseul Province.

Asked if he knew when the prospecting of the site will take place, the premier said he has no knowledge about it.

The Premier also made clarification that granting of any mining licence is not up to the provincial government to grant but the national Government.
