35 C.S.S.I RECRUITS GRADUATED WITH CERTIFICATES

Thirty-five new recruits of the Correctional Services of Solomon Islands (CSSI) have earned their certificates in a graduation ceremony after attending twelve weeks of training.

The grandaunts are the third group of CSSI officers this year.

The total number of recruits for 2014 is 105 of which 70 have already graduated.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services, Mr Edmond Sikua says today\’s graduation ceremony marks the end of a successful recruitment program for 2014.

He says the success of the program signifies CSSI\’s growth.

\”The successful completion of the recruit programme continues to signify that CSSI is a growing organisation that seeks to achieve its vision of becoming an effective, ethical and professional organisation and leader in correctional services management in the Pacific region.\”

Mr Sikua adds the Solomon Islands Government through the Ministry of Police National Security and Correctional Services hopes to fully achieve its vision.

\”Working with our donor partners we have made significant progress during this year. One of the significant achievement on the policy front is the approval of the parole regulations and the implementation during the year. I know it is the first time we have implemented parole through this regulation and there were many challenges, but I am confident that we will work through these challenges and find solutions in the year to come.\”
