Promoting the production and consumption of local food crops is crucial to family units in rural areas, says the Acting Premier for Western Province Wayne Maepio.
Mr Maepio made the statement to open the Mini Agriculture Show in Munda, Western Province, yesterday.
He said the promotion of production and consumption of local food crops is very crucial and family units in rural areas have a wealth of indigenous knowledge on cultivating these crops.
The Acting Premier also said the Western Provincial Government is committed to facilitating the Mini Agriculture Show and World Food Day every year in Munda.
