The Professional Standard Internal Investigation Department (PSII) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) is investigating a police officer who allegedly mistreated his wife.
The investigation came after a post went viral on social media about the wife of the police officer and her child were found sleeping on the street.
It was alleged that the officer often kicked out his wife and child from their home due to family disagreement.
The latest incident was the wife and her baby were found at the NPF Plaza (Anthony Sau building).
RSIPF Acting Commissioner Mr. Mathias Lenialu condemned such treatment or action taken by the alleged police officer and confirmed that an investigation is underway.
The Director of [PSII and team have progressed the investigation.
Acting Commissioner Lenialu said when PSII is finalizing the case file, then send it to my office for further instruction to be made based on their findings.
He said this is really a sad situation, but I am happy that the wife of the police officer has the courage to come forward and assist PSII with their investigation.
