A baby has died at the Evacuation Camp at the Panatina Campus Pavilion.
The baby – is reported to be about one month old – and had passed away in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Evacuation Camp Leaders claim that news of the death was conveyed to the NDMO and other responsible authorities, but responses have been at a snail\’s pace.
While medical authorities are yet to confirm the cause of the baby\’s death, a spokesman for evacuated people at the Panatina Pavilion Camp says the environment in the camp is unhealthy, exposing them and especially children to various diseases.
SIBC News visited the Panatina Pavilion late last night and witnessed the baby\’s parents and family members mourning and the baby\’s body still at the evacuation campsite.
