GOOD FRIDAY CELEBRATED ACROSS SOLOMON ISLANDS

Christians around the country today celebrated Good Friday to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

The Holy Cross Catholic church began with a Passion of Christ drama by Holy Cross Youths from Honiara Central Market to the Holy Cross Cathedral.

As the Easter weekend begins, hundreds of Christians in and around Honiara gathered to receive the message on the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary for the forgiveness of sins.

The Holy Week commemoration includes a special veneration of kissing the wood of the crucifix this evening, an Easter vigil mass on Easter Saturday and the celebration on the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday.
