A second New Zealand Defence Force plane carrying relief supplies for flood victims arrived yesterday.

New Zealand Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully says the C-130 Hercules will support the relief effort after the severe flooding last week.

Onboard will be hygiene kits, kitchen sets and water purifying kits for the evacuation centres in Honiara, as well as supplies to help Solomon Water repair Honiara’s water supply system.

The plane will also bring in a number of technical experts who will support the government.

SIBC news understands, New Zealand\’s Acting High Commissioner Sarah Wong and the Commander of New Zealand\’s Defence Force Joint Reconnaissance Team, Lieutenant Colonel Eugene Whakahoehoe were at the airport to witness the arrival.
