French Ambassador to Solomon Islands, His Excellency, Mr. Pascal Maubert today paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo at the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
During the brief meeting, Prime Minister Lilo congratulated Mr Maubert on his appointment and thanked him for accepting to serve in the Solomons.
Mr Lilo acknowledged that France plays an important role in the European Union.
He says French leadership within the European Union through the EU funded projects has helped provide services to people in Solomon Islands.
The PM pointed to the support of the biometric voter’s registration as an example.
Meanwhile, the new ambassador has welcomed the Government for accepting his appointment.
Mr Maubert says the French government desires to build a good relationship with the Solomon Islands as well as other pacific island countries.
