Choiseul Province Premier Jackson Kiloe has questioned the accessibility of the new Biometric Voter Registration, BVR system for all citizens in the country.

This came in light of media reports that Solomon Islanders living overseas may not be able to register, denying their democratic rights to vote in the upcoming National General Elections.

Premier Kiloe in a statement today said these concerns are valid, and they have his support.

The Premier adds, he is also concerned that some electorates in the country would be unable to register because of the way in which the registration exercise will be conducted.

He said unlike those in Honiara, this is true for citizens in all the provinces who have limited resources to go to their constituencies to register.

SIBC News understands registration of voters in the country will start on Monday next week.
