The Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs is planning for a new building to accommodate a number of its key judicial bodies.

They include the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Public Solicitor\’s Office and the Attorney General\’s Chambers.

Permanent Secretary Fred Me\’esa says the building will be established in the land formerly owned by the Solomon Islands Public Employees Union in Town ground.

Mr Me\’esa says a ground breaking ceremony will be held later in the year to officially mark the start of construction.

SIBC News understands the Judicial offices are facing constant lack of space.
