More than 7,000 residents in Honiara took in the Australian High Commission\’s annual G\’ Day Solomon Islands Fun Run event over the weekend.
Australian High Commissioner Andrew Byrne said the event was a great opportunity for the Australian High Commission to engage with the local Honiara community and to promote the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle.
The morning started with a Zumba warm-up before participants completed a five-kilometer run or three-kilometer walk.
There were also lots of prizes given out including more than 20 major prizes which were awarded to lucky participants who randomly picked tokens from baskets as they crossed the finish line.
