In sports, the recent 2016 Solomon Games has been dubbed one of the best ever.
This was according to Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs George Palua in an interview with SIBC News.
\”This 2016 Solomon Games was one of the best so far and is very free for everyone. It\’s been over 10 years since we\’ve held the Games in Honiara so everybody was able to see a lot more action and improvement in participation, improvement of officers so overall the Ministry and the Government are really happy with what has taken place here during the Solomon Games.\”
He says as we work towards 2023 Pacific Games, the outcome of the recent Solomon Games is promising.
\”As we work towards 2023 an outstanding feature of this 2016 Solomon Games was that people from outside looking are confident that we can organise such events peacefully.\”
Meanwhile, Renbel Province will host the 6th Solomon Games in 2018.
