Deputy Police Commissioner Juanita Matanga says the Crime Prevention Strategy adopted by the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) focuses on four key drivers contributing to criminal activities in the country.

Commissioner Matanga says these drivers are key to the increase of criminal activities in the country.

\”We have realised that there are four main drivers of issues within our societies, involving land dispute, alcohol or drugs, family violence and youth, so these are the four main drivers that affect issues in our society and we will continue to work with our communities in ensuring they are keeping these four drivers down.\”

Ms Matanga also calls on the general public to collaborate with the police by setting up committees within their communities to work closely with police to address issues in the communities.

\”I would like to ask everyone that while you\’re in your community, it\’s better to set up a committee and work with the police so that we can better understand your community\’s problems and address them accordingly.\”

Meanwhile, the Crime Prevention Strategy of the police is aimed at reducing and controlling criminal activities and elements within our society.
