In sports, Solomon Islands Rugby Union Federation (SIRUF) in collaboration with its member union associations, sponsorship partners and stakeholders will officially kick start programs and activities for the season this week.
SIRUF says a number of flagship development programs, tournaments and competitions have been lined up for this year.
It says, among major developments this season is the Get Into Rugby (GIR) program.
This is a World Rugby initiative that targets children, youth and women to be involved in rugby.
Meanwhile, the statement adds, SIRUF is also out to improve its standing in the international rugby arena where it will embark on a robust technical training and education program.
