Nine Solomon Islanders are among other recipients of the Caribbean-Pacific Islands Mobility Scheme (CARPIMS) 2015 scholarship programme.

The nine Solomon Islands scholars include six female and three male that will undertake their studies at the University of West Indies (UWI), the CARPIMS lead coordinator based in Trinidad & Tobago within 24 months.

Speaking during his brief meeting with the scholars yesterday, European Union (EU) Ambassador to Solomon Islands and Vanuatu Leonidas Tezapsidis congratulated the successful candidates for their efforts and wish them well in their studies.

He also gave the students an insight of the EU\’s role and activities in Solomon Islands.

CARPIMS is an Intra-ACP (African, Caribbean and Pacific) cooperation and mobility programme in the area of Higher Education, which aim to strengthen institutional capacities and encourage socioeconomic development.
