The Provincial Police Commander in Malaita Province fears something fatal could have happened to two fishermen who went missing over the weekend.
The two fishermen went fishing in an outboard motor canoe on Saturday outside Atori and have not returned.
PPC Alfred Uiga told SIBC News, a search party has been dispatched on Sunday and Monday, but this had to be called off due to bad weather.
Mr Uiga says he is concerned for the missing men and will resume the search as soon as the weather improves.
\”So we are still hoping that if the weather permits then we will try resume the search, otherwise it depends on the weather, but the time frame from last Saturday up until now I am afraid something fatal could have happened to the men.\”
