The Solomon Islands Meteorological Service has canceled the Heavy Rain Alert.
The cancellation was issued at 4.30 pm today.
The Met Service explains the Heavy Rain Alert previously issued for Rennell & Bellona, Makira, Guadalcanal, Central, Western and Malaita provinces is now canceled but some areas may still experience shower areas and isolated thunderstorms that are below warning thresholds and are slowly easing.
The Met Service adds this still means people in the affected areas should never attempt to cross flooding rivers and large streams of
unknown depth.
