In sports, in its pursuit to harness soccer in the Province, Guadalcanal Provincial Government (GPG) has assisted the newly S-League entrant, Football Club Guadalcanal (FCG) financially.
At hand to receive the cheque was FCG\’s interim committee vice chairman, John Stewart and team manager, Timmy Manea.
Speaking on behalf of the interim committee, a jubilant vice chairman Stewart acknowledged the Province for standing true to one of its goals – to raise the standard of sportsmanship in the Province.
It is understood the S-League fee stands at $50,000 and the almost extravagant fee demonstrated the semi-professional nature of the league.
